Catch y'all when I get back.

I'm away for the next few weekks visiting the north island so I won't be blogging for about 3 weeks unless we find somewhere to get online.

I'm taking my knitting and crochet with me so that my projects get done especially the mystery project which is almost complete but still has some work to be done on it.

I will also be taking sock yarn to be knitted in the car on the way to Alice Springs and back.

Until next time keep on knitting.

It's finished at last

My cardigan is finished and it even has the buttons sewn on. Whoopee!!!!

There is a few pickies below of the cardigan and also a close up of one of the buttons that I have sewn onto it.

It's a bit hard to see the pattern but it's a diamond cable which the camera with flash didn't want to show up. (May need to take another photo but outside tomorrow.)

I have also posted a photo of the mystery project so far. It is coming along well but I don't think I will have it finished by my deadline. (The deadline is because I and the family are going on holiday for 3 whole weeks.)

The ladies from our local S'n'B know what the mystery project is but everyone else will just have to keep guessing.

On a sad note we had to have our dear cat put to sleep this morning. She was almost 15 yrs old and was in ill health and had been for quite a while. She had started having fits and she was at the stage where she didn't have quality of life any more. The decision was very hard to make and we put it off for as long as we could. RIP dear Tuppence. Thanks for the past almost 15 yrs of love and we will miss the dabs on the nose in the middle of the night.

Until next time keep on knitting and love those around you for as long as you can as one day they will pass into the eternal afterlife.

Not MORE yarn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We went to Hobart today and I bought more yarn. Admittedly it was Opal sock yarn so it was worth it.

I found a ball of lovely mint green colourways that Cindy might like as she's a green person. I can understand why now that I have met her at the last S'n'B get together. Green is really Cindys colour. It looks really nice on her.

I also bought a ball of purple, blue, red and cream/brown tweed yarn which is one of the new colours for this season. It will be interesting to see how it knits up as they didn't have a picture of a knitted sock as it is THAT new.

There is also a ball of blue and grey yarn that has a silver fleck all through it which should look really INTERESTING when finished.

While in Hobart I went into Spotlight and wasn't real impressed with their yarn stock today. Last time they had a good supply of sock yarn but today I couldn't find much at all.

On Tuesday we had S'n'B and there was a good of people at the meet. It was really good to meet Cindy and put a face to the name. Welcome Cindy.

It was also great to meet up with the regular ladies as well.

While in Hobart today I found that they have their very own S'n'B group down there now. They meet at the Amulet each Saturday from 3pm until 6pm.

I have finished the knitting of my cardigan now BUT I still have the sleeves to sew in and the sleeve and side seams to sew up, then the job of sewing away the ends. Not far to go now.

On the way to Hobart and back I did quite a bit of crocheting on the mystery object (until I ran out of yarn) so it is growing really well. (more pickies at a later date)

I think that's all for now soooooooooo until next time keep on knitting.

Happy almost 3 year olds.

As the title suggests Katt and I have 2 happy almost 3 year olds.

Little Missy will be 3 tomorrow and Katts daughter Rachelle will be 3 on Wednesday.

Katt had a party for Rachelle at Hungry Jacks on Sunday and the girls along with Harley (Rachelles older sister), and friends Chloe and Isaac had a great time.

Honorary aunt Suzi also had a great time parading around in a pirates hat. She also participated in the pass the parcel.

On the knitting front I have almost finished the second sleeve to my cardigan so I should get it finished by my July 22nd deadline.

I haven't done any more on my crochet mystery project as I have been concentrating on getting my cardigan done.

I also went to Harris Scarf and bought 5 balls of their acrylic yarn and I have found a pattern and set it aside for missy. I have been very good and left it there instead of starting it before finishing my cardigan.

I had 3 entries in the local CWA handcraft exhibition and came away with a 1st and 2nd prize which wasn't too bad.

DH is bragging as he put 6 entries in the photography section and came away with 6 first prizes. Howzat.

Tomorrow is the local S'n'B get together so it will be interesting to see who tuurns up and what they are up to. Hopefully we get some new people coming along. Hint, hint Cindy.

Until next time keep on knitting.

War of the worlds

DS and I went to see War of the Worlds yesterday and what a fab movie it was.

The movie was VERY scary in parts and I jumped quite a bit and so did DS a few times even though he won't admit to it.

I didn't see the first movie put out in about 1953 but this one was excellent. We have the 2 record set that was put out in the 1980's and it had quite a few different bits in it.

We had 2 older ladies in the row behind us and they were saying "that was in the 1st movie" and "that wasn't the way it went in the old one". It spoilt the movie a bit but it was nice to know.

They weren't as annoying as the older gentleman whose phone rang a few times and the lady who spilt her popcorn everywhere (very noisily i might add).

Overall I would recommend that anyone that wants to see War of the Worlds go to see it but if you are a big wuss with scary movies then have second thoughts about going to see it.

On the knitting front I have done a bit more to the 1st sleeve of my cardigan and I only have about 2cm to go.

I have also done a bit more crochet on the mystery project.

Until next time keep on knitting.

Still busy (with startitis)

As you may guess by the title of this post I am still busy with knitting and crochet but I have the biggest case of startitis.

I have finished a scarf that was languishing about a 3rd done in the stash and have knit a pair of gloves for the gd's 3rd birthday but other than that who knows.

I am about 2/3 of the way up the 1st sleeve of my cardigan in Spark Plug and I (hopefully) want to get it finished by the 22nd July. Haa haa. *Which sleeve do I laugh up first.*

I have also started on a mystery project *startitis* which I also hope to finish by July 22nd. *Which sleeve do I laugh up again.*

I haven't done any more on the crochet baby cardigan but it will get done one day.

Do you get the feeling that I don't really care when these projects get completed. I must be in a craft rut. It could also be that my shoulder is making it a bit difficult to knit and crochet as it persists in aching. I thought all the pain would stay away because it had been operated on last year but it looks like it may need some more work done on it.

It sure has been cold around here of late and the arthritis is touching me along a bit as well. It must be time to take a holiday to warmer climes.

Until next time keep warm and keep on knitting.
