Not MORE yarn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We went to Hobart today and I bought more yarn. Admittedly it was Opal sock yarn so it was worth it.

I found a ball of lovely mint green colourways that Cindy might like as she's a green person. I can understand why now that I have met her at the last S'n'B get together. Green is really Cindys colour. It looks really nice on her.

I also bought a ball of purple, blue, red and cream/brown tweed yarn which is one of the new colours for this season. It will be interesting to see how it knits up as they didn't have a picture of a knitted sock as it is THAT new.

There is also a ball of blue and grey yarn that has a silver fleck all through it which should look really INTERESTING when finished.

While in Hobart I went into Spotlight and wasn't real impressed with their yarn stock today. Last time they had a good supply of sock yarn but today I couldn't find much at all.

On Tuesday we had S'n'B and there was a good of people at the meet. It was really good to meet Cindy and put a face to the name. Welcome Cindy.

It was also great to meet up with the regular ladies as well.

While in Hobart today I found that they have their very own S'n'B group down there now. They meet at the Amulet each Saturday from 3pm until 6pm.

I have finished the knitting of my cardigan now BUT I still have the sleeves to sew in and the sleeve and side seams to sew up, then the job of sewing away the ends. Not far to go now.

On the way to Hobart and back I did quite a bit of crocheting on the mystery object (until I ran out of yarn) so it is growing really well. (more pickies at a later date)

I think that's all for now soooooooooo until next time keep on knitting.

  • Dear Cathy, One of my friends has been inspired to make socks and she has some of the wool on the left, except hers is turquoise, pink, fawn and speckledy!!! I am very happy to think I will have some green socks of my own!! How shall I pay you? Obviously in money!!!, but if you aren't at the next meeting shall I give the money to someone else there???
    Yours, in anticipation!!!

  • Would it be OK if I left the sock yarn at the CWA shop and then you could leave the money there.

It is a good meeting place and they are good for the transfer of items such as this.

After the last meeting I found the Debbie Bliss book for myself and Kate. I left Kates copy at the CWA shop and she collected it from there and also left the money there for me.

Enjoy knitting your new green socks.

  • Its OK Cathy. The rate you knit you can buy all the yarn you want.

  • Cindy. The yarn is at the CWA shop. I made a mistake as the yarn was only $22.50 not $22.95.

Enjoy knitting your lovely green socks.

  • Can you knit/crochet in the car? I get terribly car sick and have to look straight ahead the whole time. Sounds like you had fun in Hobart, Suzi mentioned once that we should have a meet up with the SnBers from Hobart, that might be a lot of fun.

  • I knit or crochet all the time in the car. It's called sanity or is it that I'm just a knitaholic?

I'm like a chook with it's head chopped of when my hands have nothing to do.

  • Having now seen this oft talked about cardigan, can I say how impressive it is!

Can't wait to see it with buttons on.
